Ms. Choi's side sues Kim Hyun Joong and his lawyer for libel and defamation

The legal battle between Kim Hyun Joong and Ms. Choi doesn't seem as if it will be boiling down anytime soon. 

It has been reported that Ms. Choi has sued Kim Hyun Joong and his lawyer, Lee Jae Man, for libel. Earlier today, Ms. Choi's attorney released a statement through the press, saying, "Today at Seoul's Supreme Prosecutors' Office, we brought suit against Kim Hyun Joong and attorney Lee Jae Man for libel and defamation." 

Choi's legal representative further stated, "Through the suspects' biased assertions which were revealed through the media, the general public's sentiment recognizes my client (Ms. Choi) as a 'gold-digger' and 'blackmailer,' and [Kim Hyun Joong] even finished filing criminal charges against my client for suspicions of blackmail, fraud, and the like on July 23 of last year. On top of this, [Kim Hyun Joong's side] has continuously lied about concerns that my client will flee overseas and how she is hiding something, killing her reputation, doing as they please, and provoking the temporary interest of the public and raising distrust in the lawsuit." 

He continued, "The suspects have continuously imparted great emotional shock and stress to my client, which may cause her to experience a difficult delivery [of childbirth]. My client has resided at Songpa's Bangi-dong for near thirty years and there is no concern whatsoever that she will flee the country. She has only conducted a single interview thus far to explain her side of the story. There weren't any protection of influence, [manipulation] from behind the scenes, and no exchanging ofMONEY." 

Choi's lawyer also brought up the possibility that Kim Hyun Joong's side may be hiding the truth, as well, emphasizing, "Suspect Kim Hyun Joong is currently enlisted in the army. Then we need to know whether Kim Hyun Joong relayed the truth to his lawyer Lee Jae Man, whether they gained the rights to a criminal and civil suits through an indiscriminate interview, and investigate whether the suspects conspired the criminal acts of libel defamation, which led us to sue them." 

Kim Hyun Joong's side explains 'abusive language' contained in text messages to Ms. Choi

Kim Hyun Joong gave his side of the story regarding the 'abusive language' he used in the text messages to his ex-girlfriend Ms. Choi. 

Kim Hyun Joong's attorney Lee Jae Man released a statement through press releases today, explaining, "The text messages leaked by the suspect (Choi) are messages which contain embarrassing content of how she shared with Kim Hyun Joong the news of her pregnancy (aTOTAL of four times in a span of seven months), and could possibly receive ethical criticism," and noted, "Going beyond the ethical standpoint, however, the suspect's one-sided and arbitrary leaking [of the text messages] is a criminal offense categorized under calumny (killing of one's reputation), punishable by legal action." 

The lawyer further proclaimed, "The text messages were deliberately edited to show certain parts that make it appear as if [Kim Hyun Joong] is degrading women, but once you peruse the context and the situation at the time, you will realize that the words weren't degrading the suspect." 

Lee justified Kim Hyun Joong's vulgar laguage such as "pig" and "virile bastard" (literal translation reads "pregnancy-causing bastard"), trying to clear up the misunderstanding that may have occurred due to the obscenities used by the actor. The lawyer stated, "Firstly, Kim Hyun Joong only said 'virile bastard' because Choi told him many times that she got pregnant which led him to form that word, asking how he could be so good at impregnation." Regarding Kim Hyun Joong's other explicit texts such as, "I hate the strength of my seeds," and, "Am I some sort of impregnating machine?" Lee explained, "They're phrases that [Kim Hyun Joong and Choi] used with each other because of how easily the pregnancy occurred. It's a misunderstanding." 

Furthermore, Lee explained the use of the word "pig" in yet another of Kim Hyun Joong's text message which went, "I got stuck with a pig-like person who keeps saying she's pregnant." Lee said that Kim Hyun Joong normally used that nickname with Choi due to her physically built frame,FIRMLY declaring, "[Kim Hyun Joong] only meant [Choi] kept mentioning her pregnancy and didn't mean to degrade her." 

Kim Hyun Joong plans legal action against malicious commenters + Ms. Choi banned from leaving country

An exclusive report was released stating that allegedly, Kim Hyun Joong will take legal action against all the netizens that have been leaving hate comments. 

Kim Hyun Joong's legal representative Lee Jae Man told Star News today, "We have discovered people continuously and repeatedly leaving hate comments on this issue (the ongoing legal dispute between Ms. Choi and Kim Hyun Joong). Soon we plan to take legal action." 

According to Lee Jae Man, some netizens have been leaving hate comments towards Kim Hyun Joong using the same online ID. Lee stated, "We will take forcible action [against those who continue to leave hate comments]."

Meanwhile, prosecution has banned Ms. Choi from leaving the Korea. 

Cheongpa LawFIRM, which is currently Kim Hyun Joong's legal representative, stated, "Ms. Choi is suspected of extortion, false accusations, fraud, and defamation. Due to her suspected crimes, a severe punishment is predicted to be imposed on Ms. Choi, whom prosecution has prohibited from leaving the country." According to a rep from prosecution, an investigator imposes a travel ban prior to arrest for criminal charges that have been examined and are expected to result in harsh punishment. A travel ban on a typical criminal case is rare. 

Kim Hyun Joon has already been investigated as a plaintiff, whereas investigation on Ms. Choi was postponed and has yet to take place.
